Context of Psalms 125:4
2As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever. 3For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous, So that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong. Do good, O Lord, to those who are good And to those who are upright in their hearts. 5But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The Lord will lead them away with the doers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 4Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good - To the good; to the pious. Let them be under the divine protection. Possibly this is not merely a prayer, but is expressive of the belief of the psalmist as to what would occur under the divine administration - that the favor of God would rest upon his people.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 4-5Verses 4-5 God's promises should quicken our prayers. The way of holiness is straight; there are no windings or shiftings in it.
