Psalms 46

God the Refuge of His People.

For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah, Possibly for soprano voicesset to Alamoth. A Song.

1God is our 1refuge and strength, 2A very 3present help 4in 5trouble.2Therefore we will 6not fear, though 7the earth should change And though 8the mountains slip into the heart of the 9sea;3Though its 10waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. 11Selah.

4There is a 12river whose streams make glad the 13city of God, The holy 14dwelling places of the Most High.5God is 15in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will 16help her 17when morning dawns.6The 18nations 19made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He 2021raised His voice, the earth 22melted.7The Lord of hosts 23is with us; The God of Jacob is 24our stronghold. Selah.

8Come, 25behold the works of the Lord, 26Who has wrought 27desolations in the earth.9He 28makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He 29breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He 30burns the chariots with fire.10“31Cease striving and 32know that I am God; I will be 33exalted among the 34nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”11The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.
