Psalms 141
An Evening Prayer for Sanctification and Protection.
A Psalm of David.
1O Lord, I call upon You; 1hasten to me! 2Give ear to my voice when I call to You!2May my prayer be 3counted as 4incense before You; The 5lifting up of my hands as the 6evening offering.3Set a 7guard, O Lord, 8over my mouth; Keep watch over the 9door of my lips.410Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice deeds 11of wickedness With men who 12do iniquity; And 13do not let me eat of their delicacies.
5Let the 14righteous smite me 15in kindness and reprove me; It is 16oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it, 17For still my prayer 18is 19against their wicked deeds.6Their judges are 20thrown down by the sides of the rock, And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.7As when one 21plows and breaks open the earth, Our 22bones have been scattered at the 23mouth of 24Sheol.
8For my 25eyes are toward You, O 26God, the Lord; In You I 27take refuge; 28do not 29leave me defenseless.9Keep me from the 3031jaws of the trap which they have set for me, And from the 32snares of those who do iniquity.10Let the wicked 33fall into their own nets, While I pass by 3435safely.
