Psalms 105
The Lord’s Wonderful Works in Behalf of Israel.
1Oh 1give thanks to the Lord, 2call upon His name; 3Make known His deeds among the peoples.2Sing to Him, 4sing praises to Him; 56Speak of all His 7wonders.38Glory in His holy name; Let the 9heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.4Seek the Lord and 10His strength; 11Seek His face continually.5Remember His 1213wonders which He has done, His marvels and the 14judgments 15uttered by His mouth,6O seed of 16Abraham, His servant, O sons of 17Jacob, His 18chosen ones!7He is the Lord our God; His 19judgments are in all the earth.
8He has 20remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a 21thousand generations,9The 22covenant which He made with Abraham, And His 23oath to Isaac.10Then He 24confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,11Saying, “25To you I will give the land of Canaan As the 2627portion of your inheritance,”12When they were only a 28few men in number, Very few, and 29strangers in it.13And they wandered about from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people.14He 30permitted no man to oppress them, And He 31reproved kings for their sakes:15“32Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”
16And He 33called for a famine upon the land; He 34broke the whole staff of bread.17He 35sent a man before them, Joseph, who was 36sold as a slave.18They afflicted his 37feet with fetters, 38He himself was laid in irons;19Until the time that his 39word came to pass, The word of the Lord 4041tested him.20The 42king sent and released him, The ruler of peoples, and set him free.21He 43made him lord of his house And ruler over all his possessions,22To 44imprison his princes 4546at will, That he might teach his elders wisdom.2347Israel also came into Egypt; Thus Jacob 48sojourned in the land of Ham.24And He 49caused His people to be very fruitful, And made them stronger than their adversaries.
25He 50turned their heart to hate His people, To 51deal craftily with His servants.26He 52sent Moses His servant, And 53Aaron, whom He had chosen.27They 5455performed His wondrous acts among them, And miracles in the land of Ham.28He 56sent darkness and made it dark; And they did not 57rebel against His words.29He 58turned their waters into blood And caused their fish to die.30Their land swarmed with 59frogs Even in the 60chambers of their kings.31He spoke, and there came a 61swarm of flies And 62gnats in all their territory.32He 63gave them 64hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land.33He 65struck down their vines also and their fig trees, And shattered the trees of their territory.34He spoke, and 66locusts came, And young locusts, even without number,35And ate up all vegetation in their land, And ate up the fruit of their ground.36He also 67struck down all the firstborn in their land, The 68first fruits of all their vigor.
37Then He brought them out with 69silver and gold, And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.38Egypt was 70glad when they departed, For the 71dread of them had fallen upon them.39He spread a 72cloud for a 73covering, And 74fire to illumine by night.4075They 76asked, and He brought 77quail, And satisfied them with the 7879bread of heaven.41He opened the 80rock and 81water flowed out; 82It ran in the dry places like a river.42For He 83remembered His holy word With Abraham His servant;43And He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful 84shout.44He 85gave them also the lands of the 86nations, That they 87might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,45So that they might 88keep His statutes And observe His laws, 89Praise 90the Lord!
