Psalms 75
God Abases the Proud, but Exalts the Righteous.
For the choir director; set to Lit Do Not DestroyAl-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.
1We 1give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your name is 2near; Men declare 3Your wondrous works.2“When I select an 4appointed time, It is I who 5judge with equity.3The 6earth and all who dwell in it 7melt; It is I who have firmly set its 8pillars. 9Selah.4I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’ And to the wicked, ‘10Do not lift up the horn;5Do not lift up your horn on high, 11Do not speak with insolent 12pride.’”
6For not from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the 1314desert comes exaltation;7But 15God is the Judge; He 16puts down one and exalts another.8For a 17cup is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams; It is 1819well mixed, and He pours out of this; Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and 20drink down its dregs.
9But as for me, I will 21declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.10And all the 22horns of the wicked 23He will cut off, But 24the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
