Psalms 28

A Prayer for Help, and Praise for Its Answer.

A Psalm of David.

1To You, O Lord, I call; My 1rock, do not be deaf to me, For if You 2are silent to me, I will become like those who 3go down to the pit.2Hear the 4voice of my supplications when I cry to You for help, When I 5lift up my hands 6toward 7Your holy 8sanctuary.39Do not drag me away with the wicked And with those who work iniquity, Who 10speak peace with their neighbors, While evil is in their hearts.4Requite them 11according to their work and according to the evil of their practices; Requite them according to the deeds of their hands; Repay them their 12recompense.5Because they 13do not regard the works of the Lord Nor the deeds of His hands, He will tear them down and not build them up.

6Blessed be the Lord, Because He 14has heard the voice of my supplication.7The Lord is my 15strength and my 16shield; My heart 17trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore 18my heart exults, And with 19my song I shall thank Him.8The Lord is 20their 21strength, And He is a 2223saving defense to His anointed.924Save Your people and bless 25Your inheritance; Be their 26shepherd also, and 27carry them forever.
