Psalms 122

Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.

A Song of Ascents, of David.

1I was glad when they said to me, “Let us 1go to the house of the Lord.”2Our feet are standing Within your 2gates, O Jerusalem,3Jerusalem, that is 3built As a city that is 4compact together;4To which the tribes 5go up, even the tribes of 6the Lord-- 7An ordinance for Israel-- To give thanks to the name of the Lord.5For there 8thrones were set for judgment, The thrones of the house of David.

6Pray for the 9peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who 10love you.7May peace be within your 11walls, And prosperity within your 12palaces.”8For the sake of my 13brothers and my friends, I will now say, “14May peace be within you.”9For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will 15seek your good.
