Psalms 76
The Victorious Power of the God of Jacob.
For the choir director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.
1God is 1known in Judah; His name is 2great in Israel.2His 34tabernacle is in 5Salem; His 6dwelling place also is in Zion.3There He 7broke the 8flaming arrows, The shield and the sword and the 9weapons of war. 10Selah.
4You are resplendent, 11More majestic than the mountains of prey.5The 12stouthearted were plundered, 13They sank into sleep; And none of the 14warriors could use his hands.6At Your 15rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both 1617rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.7You, even You, are 18to be feared; And 19who may stand in Your presence when once 20You are angry?
8You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth 21feared and was still9When God 22arose to judgment, To save all the humble of the earth. Selah.10For the 2324wrath of man shall praise You; With a remnant of wrath You will gird Yourself.
1125Make vows to the Lord your God and 26fulfill them; Let all who are around Him 27bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.12He will cut off the spirit of princes; He is 2829feared by the kings of the earth.
