Context of Psalms 125:4
2As the mountains are around Jerusalem, so Adonai is all around His people, both now and forever. 3For a scepter of wickedness will not rest over the land of the righteous— lest the righteous set their hands to evil. Do good, Adonai, to the good, and to those upright in their hearts. 5But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, Adonai will lead them away with evildoers. Shalom be upon Israel.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 4Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good - To the good; to the pious. Let them be under the divine protection. Possibly this is not merely a prayer, but is expressive of the belief of the psalmist as to what would occur under the divine administration - that the favor of God would rest upon his people.Read the comment
