Psalms 127
Prosperity Comes from the Lord.
A Song of Ascents, of Solomon.
1Unless the Lord 1builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord 2guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.2It is vain for you to rise up early, To 3retire late, To 4eat the bread of 5painful labors; For He gives to His 6beloved 7even in his sleep.
3Behold, 8children are a 9gift of the Lord, The 10fruit of the womb is a reward.4Like arrows in the hand of a 11warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.5How 12blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; 13They will not be ashamed When they 14speak with their enemies 15in the gate.
