Psalms 84

Longing for the Temple Worship.

For the choir director; Or according toon the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1How lovely are Your 1dwelling places, O Lord of hosts!2My 2soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the 3living God.3The bird also has found a house, And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, Even Your 4altars, O Lord of hosts, 5My King and my God.4How 6blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are 7ever praising You. 8Selah.

5How blessed is the man whose 9strength is in You, In 10whose heart are the 11highways to Zion!6Passing through the valley of 12Baca they make it a 13spring; The 14early rain also covers it with blessings.7They 15go from strength to strength, 16Every one of them 17appears before God in Zion.

8O 18Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; Give ear, O 19God of Jacob! Selah.9Behold our 20shield, O God, And look upon the face of 21Your anointed.10For 22a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.11For the Lord God is 23a sun and 24shield; The Lord gives grace and 25glory; 26No good thing does He withhold 27from those who walk 28uprightly.12O Lord of hosts, How 29blessed is the man who trusts in You!
