Psalms 142

Prayer for Help in Trouble.

Possibly Contemplative, or Didactic, or Skillful PsalmMaskil of David, when he was 1 Sam 22:1; 24:3in the cave. A Prayer.

1I 1cry aloud with my voice to the Lord; I 2make supplication with my voice to the Lord.2I 3pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my 4trouble before Him.3When 5my spirit 6was overwhelmed within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walk They have 7hidden a trap for me.4Look to the right and see; For there is 8no one who regards me; 9There is no 10escape for me; 11No one cares for my soul.

5I cried out to You, O Lord; I said, “You are 12my refuge, My 13portion in the 14land of the living.615Give heed to my cry, For I am 16brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors, For they are too 17strong for me.718Bring my soul out of prison, So that I may give thanks to Your name; The righteous will surround me, For You will 19deal bountifully with me.”
