Psalms 104

The Lord’s Care over All His Works.

11Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are 2clothed with splendor and majesty,2Covering Yourself with 3light as with a cloak, 4Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.35He 6lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; 7He makes the 8clouds His chariot; 9He walks upon the 10wings of the wind;411He makes 1213the winds His messengers, 14Flaming 15fire His ministers.

5He 16established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not 17totter forever and ever.6You 18covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters were standing above the mountains.7At Your 19rebuke they fled, At the 20sound of Your thunder they hurried away.8The mountains rose; the valleys sank down To the 21place which You established for them.9You set a 22boundary that they may not pass over, So that they will not return to cover the earth.

1023He sends forth 24springs in the valleys; They flow between the mountains;11They 25give drink to every beast of the field; The 26wild donkeys quench their thirst.1227Beside them the birds of the heavens 28dwell; They 29lift up their voices among the branches.1330He 31waters the mountains from His upper chambers; 32The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.

1433He causes the 34grass to grow for the 35cattle, And 36vegetation for the 37labor of man, So that 38he may bring forth 39food 40from the earth,15And 41wine which makes man’s heart glad, 42So that he may make his face glisten with oil, And 43food which 44sustains man’s heart.16The trees of the Lord 45drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,17Where the 46birds build their nests, And the 47stork, whose home is the 48fir trees.

18The high mountains are for the 49wild goats; The 50cliffs are a refuge for the 5152shephanim.19He made the moon 53for the seasons; The 54sun knows the place of its setting.20You 55appoint darkness and it becomes night, In which all the 56beasts of the forest 57prowl about.21The 58young lions roar after their prey 59And 60seek their food from God.22When the sun rises they withdraw And lie down in their 61dens.23Man goes forth to 62his work And to his labor until evening.

24O Lord, how 63many are Your works! 64In 65wisdom You have made them all; The 66earth is full of Your 67possessions.2568There is the 69sea, great and 70broad, In which are swarms without number, Animals both small and great.26There the 71ships move along, And 7273Leviathan, which You have formed to sport in it.

27They all 74wait for You To 75give them their food in 76due season.28You give to them, they gather it up; You 77open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.29You 78hide Your face, they are dismayed; You 79take away their 80spirit, they expire And 81return to their dust.30You send forth Your 8283Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the ground.

31Let the 84glory of the Lord endure forever; Let the Lord 85be glad in His works;3286He 87looks at the earth, and it 88trembles; He 89touches the mountains, and they smoke.3390I will sing to the Lord 9192as long as I live; 93I will 94sing praise to my God 95while I have my being.34Let my 96meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall 97be glad in the Lord.35Let sinners be 98consumed from the earth And let the 99wicked be no more. 100Bless the Lord, O my soul. 101102Praise 103the Lord!
