Psalms 47

God the King of the Earth.

For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1O 1clap your hands, all peoples; 2Shout to God with the voice of 3joy.2For the Lord Most High is to be 4feared, A 5great King over all the earth.3He 6subdues peoples under us And nations under our feet.4He chooses our 7inheritance for us, The 8glory of Jacob whom He loves. 9Selah.

5God has 10ascended 11with a shout, The Lord, 12with the 13sound of a trumpet.6 14Sing praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to 15our King, sing praises.7For God is the 16King of all the earth; Sing praises 17with a 18skillful psalm.8God 19reigns over the nations, God 20sits on 21His holy throne.9The 22 23princes of the people have assembled themselves as the 24people of the God of Abraham, For the 25shields of the earth belong to God; He 26is 27highly exalted.
