Psalms 63
The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.
A Psalm of David, 1 Sam 22:5; 23:14when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
1O God, 1You are my God; I shall seek You 2earnestly; My soul 3thirsts for You, my flesh 4yearns for You, In a 5dry and weary land where there is no water.2Thus I have 6seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.3Because Your 7lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You.4So I will bless You 8as long as I live; I will 9lift up my hands in Your name.5My soul is 10satisfied as with 11marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers 12praises with joyful lips.
6When I remember You 13on my bed, I meditate on You in the 14night watches,7For 15You have been my help, And in the 16shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.8My soul 17clings 18to You; Your 19right hand upholds me.
9But those who 20seek my 21life to destroy it, Will go into the 2223depths of the earth.1024They will be 2526delivered over to the power of the sword; They will be a 2728prey for foxes.11But the 29king will rejoice in God; Everyone who 30swears by Him will glory, For the 31mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.
