Psalms 16
The Lord the Psalmist’s Portion in Life and Deliverer in Death.
A Possibly Epigrammatic Poem or Atonement PsalmMikhtam of David.
11Preserve me, O God, for 2I take refuge in You.23I said to the Lord, “You are 4my Lord; I 5have no good besides You.”3As for the 67saints who are in the earth, 8They are the majestic ones 9in whom is all my delight.4The 1011sorrows of those who have 12bartered for another god will be multiplied; I shall not pour out their drink offerings of 13blood, Nor will I 14take their names upon my lips.
5The Lord is the 15portion of my inheritance and my 16cup; You support my 17lot.6The 18lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is 19beautiful to me.
7I will bless the Lord who has 20counseled me; Indeed, my 2122mind instructs me in the night.823I have 24set the Lord continually before me; Because He is 25at my right hand, 26I will not be shaken.9Therefore 27my heart is glad and 28my glory rejoices; My flesh also will 29dwell securely.10For You 30will not abandon my soul to 31Sheol; Nor will You 3233allow Your 34Holy One to 35undergo decay.11You will make known to me 36the path of life; In 37Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are 38pleasures forever.
