Psalms 149

Israel Invoked to Praise the Lord.

1 1Praise 2the Lord! Sing to the Lord a 3new song, And His praise 4in the congregation of the godly ones.2Let Israel be glad in 5his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their 6King.3Let them praise His name with 7dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with 8timbrel and lyre.4For the Lord 9takes pleasure in His people; He will 10beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.

5Let the 11godly ones exult in glory; Let them 12sing for joy on their beds.6Let the 13high praises of God be in their 14mouth, And a 15two-edged 16sword in their hand,7To 17execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples,8To bind their kings 18with chains And their 19nobles with fetters of iron,9To 20execute on them the judgment written; This is an 21honor for all His godly ones. 22Praise 23the Lord!
