Psalms 53

Folly and Wickedness of Men.

For the choir director; according to I.e. sickness, a sad toneMahalath. A Possibly Contemplative, or Didactic, or Skillful PsalmMaskil of David.

11The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God,” They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice; 2There is no one who does good.2God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is 3anyone who 4understands, Who 5seeks after God.36Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.

4Have the workers of wickedness 7no knowledge, Who eat up My people as though they ate bread And have not called upon God?5There they were in great 8fear 9where no 10fear had been; For God 11scattered the bones of 12him who encamped against you; You 13put them to shame, because 14God had rejected them.6Oh, that 15the salvation of Israel 16would come out of Zion! When God 17restores His captive people, 18Let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
