Psalms 4
Evening Prayer of Trust in God.
I.e. Belonging to the choir director’s anthologyFor the choir director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.
11Answer me when 2I call, O God 3of my righteousness! You have 45relieved me in my distress; Be 6gracious to me and 7hear my prayer.
2O sons of men, how long will 8my 9honor become 10a reproach? How long will you love 11what is worthless and aim at 12deception? 13Selah.3But know that the Lord has 1415set apart the 16godly man for Himself; The Lord 17hears when I call to Him.
41819Tremble, 2021and do not sin; 2223Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.5Offer 24the 25sacrifices of righteousness, And 26trust in the Lord.
6Many are saying, “27Who will show us any good?” 28Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord!7You have put 29gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound.8In peace I will 30both 31lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me to 32dwell in safety.
