Psalms 34

The Lord, a Provider and Deliverer.

A Psalm of David when he Or changed his behaviorfeigned madness before Possibly a title of King Achish of Gath, see 1 Sam 21:10-15Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed.

1I will 1bless the Lord at all times; His 2praise shall continually be in my mouth.2My soul will 3make its boast in the Lord; The 4humble will hear it and rejoice.3O 5magnify the Lord with me, And let us 6exalt His name together.

4I 7sought the Lord, and He answered me, And 8delivered me from all my fears.5They 9looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will 10never be ashamed.6This 11poor man cried, and 12the Lord heard him And saved him out of all his troubles.7The 13angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.

8O 14taste and see that the Lord is good; How 15blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!9O fear the Lord, you 16His saints; For to those who fear Him there is 17no want.10The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall 18not be in want of any good thing.1119Come, you children, listen to me; 20I will teach you 21the fear of the Lord.1222Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may 23see good?13Keep 24your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking 25deceit.1426Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and 27pursue it.

15The 28eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry.16The 29face of the Lord is against evildoers, To 30cut off the memory of them from the earth.17The righteous 31cry, and the Lord hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.18The Lord 32is near to the 33brokenhearted And saves those who are 3435crushed in spirit.

1936Many are the 37afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord 38delivers him out of them all.20He keeps all his bones, 39Not one of them is broken.2140Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous will be 41condemned.22The Lord 42redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who 43take refuge in Him will be 44condemned.
