Psalms 144
Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity.
A Psalm of David.
1Blessed be the Lord, 1my rock, Who 2trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;2My lovingkindness and 3my fortress, My 4stronghold and my deliverer, My 5shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who 6subdues 7my people under me.3O Lord, 8what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You think of him?49Man is like a mere breath; His 10days are like a passing shadow.
511Bow Your heavens, O Lord, and 12come down; 13Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.6Flash forth 14lightning and scatter them; Send out Your 15arrows and confuse them.7Stretch forth Your hand 16from on high; Rescue me and 17deliver me out of great waters, Out of the hand of 18aliens8Whose mouths 19speak deceit, And whose 20right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
9I will sing a 21new song to You, O God; Upon a 22harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,10Who 23gives salvation to kings, Who 24rescues David His servant from the evil sword.11Rescue me and deliver me out of the hand of 25aliens, Whose mouth 26speaks deceit And whose 27right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
12Let our sons in their youth be as 28grown-up plants, And our daughters as 29corner pillars 30fashioned as for a palace;13Let our 31garners be full, furnishing every kind of produce, And our flocks bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our 32fields;14Let our 33cattle 34bear Without 3536mishap and without 3738loss, Let there be no 39outcry in our streets!15How blessed are the people who are so situated; How 40blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!
