Psalms 106:6-43

61We have sinned 23like our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have behaved wickedly.7Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your 4wonders; They 5did not remember 6Your abundant kindnesses, But 7rebelled by the sea, at the 8Red Sea.8Nevertheless He saved them 9for the sake of His name, That He might 10make His power known.9Thus He 11rebuked the 12Red Sea and it 13dried up, And He 14led them through the deeps, as through the wilderness.10So He 15saved them from the 16hand of the one who hated them, And 17redeemed them from the 18hand of the enemy.1119The waters covered their adversaries; Not one of them was left.12Then they 20believed His words; They 21sang His praise.

13They quickly 22forgot His works; They 23did not wait for His counsel,14But 24craved intensely in the wilderness, And 2526tempted God in the desert.15So He 27gave them their request, But 28sent a 29wasting disease among them.

16When they became 30envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the Lord,17The 31earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And engulfed the 32company of Abiram.18And a 33fire blazed up in their 34company; The flame consumed the wicked.

19They 35made a calf in Horeb And worshiped a molten image.20Thus they 36exchanged their glory For the image of an ox that eats grass.21They 37forgot God their Savior, Who had done 38great things in Egypt,223940Wonders in the land of Ham And awesome things by the 41Red Sea.23Therefore 42He said that He would destroy them, Had not 43Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.24Then they 44despised the 45pleasant land; They 46did not believe in His word,25But 47grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to the voice of the Lord.26Therefore He 4849swore to them That He would cast them down in the wilderness,27And that He would 50cast their seed among the nations And 51scatter them in the lands.

28They 52joined themselves also to 53Baal-peor, And ate 54sacrifices offered to the dead.29Thus they 55provoked Him to anger with their deeds, And the plague broke out among them.30Then Phinehas 56stood up and interposed, And so the 57plague was stayed.31And it was 58reckoned to him for righteousness, To all generations forever.

32They also 59provoked Him to wrath at the waters of 60Meribah, So that it 61went hard with Moses on their account;33Because they 62were rebellious against 63His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips.

34They 64did not destroy the peoples, As 65the Lord commanded them,35But 66they mingled with the nations And learned their 67practices,36And 68served their idols, 69Which became a snare to them.37They even 70sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the 71demons,38And shed 72innocent blood, The blood of their 73sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was 74polluted with the blood.39Thus they became 75unclean in their 76practices, And 77played the harlot in their deeds.

40Therefore the 78anger of the Lord was kindled against His people And He 79abhorred His 8081inheritance.41Then 82He gave them into the hand of the 83nations, And those who hated them ruled over them.42Their enemies also 84oppressed them, And they were subdued under their 85power.43Many times He would 86deliver them; They, however, were rebellious in their 87counsel, And so 88sank down in their iniquity.
