Psalms 94:4-23

4They pour forth words, they 1speak arrogantly; All who do wickedness 2vaunt themselves.5They 3crush Your people, O Lord, And 4afflict Your heritage.6They 5slay the widow and the 6stranger And murder the orphans.77They have said, “8The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob pay heed.”

8Pay heed, you 9senseless among the people; And when will you understand, 10stupid ones?9He who 11planted the ear, 12does He not hear? He who formed the eye, 13does He not see?10He who 1415chastens the nations, will He not rebuke, Even He who 16teaches man knowledge?11The Lord 17knows the thoughts of man, 18That they are a mere breath.

12Blessed is the man whom 19You chasten, O 20Lord, And 21whom You teach out of Your law;13That You may grant him 22relief from the 23days of adversity, Until 24a pit is dug for the wicked.14For 25the Lord will not abandon His people, Nor will He 26forsake His inheritance.15For 2728judgment 29will again be righteous, And all the upright in heart 30will follow it.16Who will 31stand up for me against evildoers? Who will take his stand for me 32against those who do wickedness?

17If 33the Lord had not been my help, My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.18If I should say, “34My foot has slipped,” Your lovingkindness, O Lord, will hold me up.19When my anxious thoughts 35multiply within me, Your 36consolations delight my soul.20Can a 3738throne of destruction be allied with You, One 39which devises 40mischief by decree?21They 41band themselves together against the 42life of the righteous And 43condemn 44the innocent to death.22But the Lord has been my 45stronghold, And my God the 46rock of my refuge.23He has 47brought back their wickedness upon them And will 4849destroy them in their evil; The Lord our God will 50destroy them.
