Psalms 89:26-52
26He will cry to Me, ‘You are 1my Father, My God, and the 2rock of my salvation.’27I also shall make him My 3firstborn, The 4highest of the kings of the earth.28My 5lovingkindness I will keep for him forever, And My 6covenant shall be confirmed to him.29So I will establish his 78descendants forever And his 9throne 10as the days of heaven.
30“If his sons 11forsake My law And do not walk in My judgments,31If they 12violate My statutes And do not keep My commandments,32Then I will punish their transgression with the 13rod And their iniquity with stripes.33But I will not break off 14My lovingkindness from him, Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.34My 15covenant I will not 16violate, Nor will I 17alter 18the utterance of My lips.3519Once I have 20sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.36His 2122descendants shall endure forever And his 23throne 24as the sun before Me.37It shall be established forever 25like the moon, And the 26witness in the sky is faithful.” 27Selah.
38But You have 28cast off and 29rejected, You have been full of wrath 30against Your 31anointed.39You have 32spurned the covenant of Your servant; You have 33profaned 34his crown 35in the dust.40You have 36broken down all his walls; You have 37brought his strongholds to ruin.4138All who pass along the way plunder him; He has become a 39reproach to his neighbors.42You have 40exalted the right hand of his adversaries; You have 41made all his enemies rejoice.43You also turn back the edge of his sword And have 42not made him stand in battle.44You have made his 4344splendor to cease And cast his throne to the ground.45You have 45shortened the days of his youth; You have 46covered him with shame. Selah.
4647How long, O Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your 48wrath burn like fire?4749Remember 50what my span of life is; For what 51vanity 52You have created all the sons of men!48What man can live and not 53see death? Can he 54deliver his soul from the 55power of 56Sheol? Selah.
49Where are Your former lovingkindnesses, O Lord, Which You 57swore to David in Your faithfulness?50Remember, O Lord, the 58reproach of Your servants; 59How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many peoples,51With which 60Your enemies have reproached, O Lord, With which they have reproached the footsteps of 61Your anointed.
