Psalms 89:26-52

26He will call to Me, ‘You are 1my Father, My God, and the 2rock of my salvation.’27I will also make him My 3firstborn, The 4highest of the kings of the earth.28I will maintain My 5favor for him forever, And My 6covenant shall be confirmed to him.29So I will establish his 78descendants forever, And his 9throne 10as the days of heaven.

30“If his sons 11abandon My Law And do not walk in My judgments,31If they 12violate My statutes And do not keep My commandments,32Then I will punish their wrongdoing with the 13rod, And their guilt with 14afflictions.33But I will not 15withhold 16My favor from him, Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.34I will not 17violate My 18covenant, Nor will I 19alter 20the utterance of My lips.3521Once I have 22sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.36His 2324descendants shall endure forever, And his 25throne 26as the sun before Me.37It shall be established forever 27like the moon, And a 28witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah

38But You have 29rejected and 30refused, You have been full of wrath 31against Your 32anointed.39You have 3334repudiated the covenant of Your servant; You have 35profaned 36his crown 37in the dust.40You have 38broken down all his walls; You have 39brought his strongholds to ruin.4140All who pass along the way plunder him; He has become a 41disgrace to his neighbors.42You have 42exalted the right hand of his adversaries; You have 43made all his enemies rejoice.43You also turn back the edge of his sword, And have 44not made him stand in battle.44You have put an end to his 4546splendor And cast his throne to the ground.45You have 47shortened the days of his youth; You have 48covered him with shame. Selah

4649How long, Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your 50wrath burn like fire?4751Remember 52what my lifespan is; For what 53futility 54You have created all the sons of mankind!48What man can live and not 55see death? Can he 56save his soul from the 57power of 58Sheol? Selah

49Where are Your former acts of favor, Lord, Which You 59swore to David in Your faithfulness?50Remember, Lord, the 60taunt against Your servants; 61How I carry in my heart the taunts of all the many peoples,51With which 62Your enemies have taunted, Lord, With which they have taunted the footsteps of 63Your anointed.

5264Blessed be the Lord forever! Amen and Amen.
