Psalms 17:9-14
9From the 1wicked who despoil me, My 2deadly enemies who surround me.10They have 3closed their 4unfeeling heart, With their mouth they 5speak proudly.11They have now 6surrounded us in our steps; They set their eyes 7to cast us down to the ground.12He is 8like a lion that is eager to tear, And as a young lion 9lurking in hiding places.
1310Arise, O Lord, confront him, 11bring him low; 12Deliver my soul from the wicked with 13Your sword,14From men with 14Your hand, O Lord, From men 15of the world, 16whose portion is in this life, And whose belly You 17fill with Your treasure; They are satisfied with children, And leave their abundance to their babes.
