Psalms 17:9-14
9From the 1wicked who deal violently with me, My 2deadly enemies who surround me.10They have 3closed their 4unfeeling hearts, With their mouths they 5speak proudly.11They have now 6surrounded us in our steps; They set their eyes 7to cast us down to the ground.12He is 8like a lion that is eager to tear, And as a young lion 9lurking in secret places.
1310Arise, Lord, confront him, 11make him bow down; 12Save my soul from the wicked with 13Your sword,14From people by 14Your hand, Lord, From people 15of the world, 16whose portion is in this life, And whose belly You 17fill with Your treasure; They are satisfied with children, And leave their abundance to their babies.
