Psalms 107:4-32

4They 1wandered in the wilderness in a 2desert region; They did not find a way to 3an inhabited 4city.5They were hungry 5and thirsty; Their 6soul fainted within them.6Then they 7cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses.7He led them also by a 89straight way, To go to 1011an inhabited city.812Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His 13wonders to the sons of men!9For He has 14satisfied the 15thirsty soul, And the 16hungry soul He has filled with what is good.

10There were those who 17dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death, 18Prisoners in 19misery and 20chains,11Because they had 21rebelled against the words of God And 22spurned the 23counsel of the Most High.12Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was 24none to help.13Then they 25cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.14He 26brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death And 27broke their bands apart.1528Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His 29wonders to the sons of men!16For He has 30shattered gates of bronze And cut bars of iron asunder.

17Fools, because of 31their rebellious way, And 32because of their iniquities, were afflicted.18Their 33soul abhorred all kinds of food, And they 34drew near to the 35gates of death.19Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.20He 36sent His word and 37healed them, And 38delivered them from their 39destructions.2140Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His 41wonders to the sons of men!22Let them also offer 42sacrifices of thanksgiving, And 43tell of His works with joyful singing.

23Those who 44go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters;24They have seen the works of the Lord, And His 45wonders in the deep.25For He 46spoke and raised up a 47stormy wind, Which 48lifted up the waves 49of the sea.26They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; Their soul 50melted away in their misery.27They reeled and 51staggered like a drunken man, And 52were at their wits’ end.28Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses.29He 53caused the storm to be still, So that the waves 54of the sea were hushed.30Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired haven.3155Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His 5657wonders to the sons of men!32Let them 58extol Him also 59in the congregation of the people, And 60praise Him at the seat of the elders.
