Psalms 107:4-32
4They 1wandered in the wilderness in a 2desert region; They did not find a way to 3an inhabited 4city.5They were hungry 5and thirsty; Their 6souls felt weak within them.6Then they 7cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.7He also had them walk on a 89straight way, To go to 1011an inhabited city.812They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His 13wonders to the sons of mankind!9For He has 14satisfied the 15thirsty soul, And He has filled the 16hungry soul with what is good.
10There were those who 17lived in darkness and in 18the shadow of death, 19Prisoners in misery and 20chains,11Because they had 21rebelled against the words of God And 22rejected the 23plan of the Most High.12Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was 24no one to help.13Then they 25cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.14He 26brought them out of darkness and 27the shadow of death And 28broke their bands apart.1529They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His 30wonders to the sons of mankind!16For He has 31shattered gates of bronze And cut off bars of iron.
17Fools, because of 32their rebellious way, And 33because of their guilty deeds, were afflicted.18Their 34souls loathed all kinds of food, And they 35came close to the 36gates of death.19Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.20He 37sent His word and 38healed them, And 39saved them from their 40destruction.2141They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His 42wonders to the sons of mankind!22They shall also offer 43sacrifices of thanksgiving, And 44tell of His works with joyful singing.
23Those who 45go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters;24They have seen the works of the Lord, And His 46wonders in the deep.25For He 47spoke and raised a 48stormy wind, Which 49lifted the waves 50of the sea.26They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; Their soul 51melted away in their misery.27They reeled and 52staggered like a drunken person, And 53were at their wits’ end.28Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses.29He 54caused the storm to be still, So that the waves 55of the sea were hushed.30Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired harbor.3156They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His 5758wonders to the sons of mankind!32They shall also 59exalt Him 60in the congregation of the people, And 61praise Him at the seat of the elders.
