Psalms 90:2-17

2Before 1the mountains were born 2Or You 3gave birth to the earth and the world, Even 4from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

3You 5turn man back into dust And say, “Return, O children of men.”4For 6a thousand years in Your sight Are like 7yesterday when it passes by, 8Or as a 9watch in the night.5You 10have 11swept them away like a flood, they 12 13fall asleep; In the morning they are like 14grass which 15sprouts anew.6In the morning it 16flourishes and 17sprouts anew; Toward evening it 18fades and 19withers away.

7For we have been 20consumed by Your anger And by Your wrath we have been 21dismayed.8You have 22placed our iniquities before You, Our 23secret sins in the light of Your presence.9For 24all our days have declined in Your fury; We have finished our years like a 25sigh.10As for the days of our 26life, 27they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, 28eighty years, Yet their pride is but 29labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we 30fly away.11Who 31understands the 32power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the 33fear 34that is due You?12So 35teach us to number our days, That we may 36 37present to You a heart of wisdom.

13Do 38return, O Lord; 39how long will it be? And 40be 41sorry for Your servants.14O 42satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may 43sing for joy and be glad all our days.15 44Make us glad 45according to the days You have afflicted us, And the 46years we have seen 47evil.16Let Your 48work appear to Your servants And Your 49majesty 50to their children.17Let the 51favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And 52 53confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, 54confirm the work of our hands.
