Psalms 90:2-17

2Before 1the mountains were born 2Or You 3gave birth to the earth and the world, Even 4from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

3You 5turn mortals back into dust And say, “Return, you sons of mankind.”4For 6a thousand years in Your sight Are like 7yesterday when it passes by, 8Or like a 9watch in the night.5You 10have 11swept them away like a flood, they 12 13fall asleep; In the morning they are like 14grass that 15sprouts anew.6In the morning it 16flourishes and 17sprouts anew; Toward evening it 18wilts and 19withers away.

7For we have been 20consumed by Your anger, And we have been terrified by Your wrath.8You have 21placed our guilty deeds before You, Our 22hidden sins in the light of Your presence.9For 23all our days have dwindled away in Your fury; We have finished our years like a 24sigh.10As for the days of our 25life, 26they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, 27eighty years, Yet their pride is only 28trouble and tragedy; For it quickly passes, and we 29disappear.11Who 30understands the 31power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the 32fear 33that is due You?12So 34teach us to number our days, That we may 35 36present to You a heart of wisdom.

13Do 37return, Lord; 38how long will it be? And 39be 40sorry for Your servants.14 41Satisfy us in the morning with Your graciousness, That we may 42sing for joy and rejoice all our days.15 43Make us glad 44according to the days You have afflicted us, And the 45years we have seen 46evil.16Let Your 47work appear to Your servants And Your 48majesty 49to their children.17May the 50kindness of the Lord our God be upon us; And 51 52confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, 53confirm the work of our hands.
