Psalms 90:1-17

1 1Lord, You have been our 2 3dwelling place in all generations.2Before 4the mountains were born 5Or You 6gave birth to the earth and the world, Even 7from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

3You 8turn man back into dust And say, “Return, O children of men.”4For 9a thousand years in Your sight Are like 10yesterday when it passes by, 11Or as a 12watch in the night.5You 13have 14swept them away like a flood, they 15 16fall asleep; In the morning they are like 17grass which 18sprouts anew.6In the morning it 19flourishes and 20sprouts anew; Toward evening it 21fades and 22withers away.

7For we have been 23consumed by Your anger And by Your wrath we have been 24dismayed.8You have 25placed our iniquities before You, Our 26secret sins in the light of Your presence.9For 27all our days have declined in Your fury; We have finished our years like a 28sigh.10As for the days of our 29life, 30they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, 31eighty years, Yet their pride is but 32labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we 33fly away.11Who 34understands the 35power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the 36fear 37that is due You?12So 38teach us to number our days, That we may 39 40present to You a heart of wisdom.

13Do 41return, O Lord; 42how long will it be? And 43be 44sorry for Your servants.14O 45satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may 46sing for joy and be glad all our days.15 47Make us glad 48according to the days You have afflicted us, And the 49years we have seen 50evil.16Let Your 51work appear to Your servants And Your 52majesty 53to their children.17Let the 54favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And 55 56confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, 57confirm the work of our hands.
