Psalms 89:20-37
20I have 1found David My servant; With My holy 2oil I have anointed him,21With whom 3My hand will be established; My arm also will 4strengthen him.22The enemy will not 5deceive him, Nor the 67son of wickedness afflict him.23But I shall 8crush his adversaries before him, And strike those who hate him.24My 9faithfulness and My lovingkindness will be with him, And in My name his 10horn will be exalted.25I shall also set his hand 11on the sea And his right hand on the rivers.26He will cry to Me, ‘You are 12my Father, My God, and the 13rock of my salvation.’27I also shall make him My 14firstborn, The 15highest of the kings of the earth.28My 16lovingkindness I will keep for him forever, And My 17covenant shall be confirmed to him.29So I will establish his 1819descendants forever And his 20throne 21as the days of heaven.
30“If his sons 22forsake My law And do not walk in My judgments,31If they 23violate My statutes And do not keep My commandments,32Then I will punish their transgression with the 24rod And their iniquity with stripes.33But I will not break off 25My lovingkindness from him, Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.34My 26covenant I will not 27violate, Nor will I 28alter 29the utterance of My lips.3530Once I have 31sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.36His 3233descendants shall endure forever And his 34throne 35as the sun before Me.37It shall be established forever 36like the moon, And the 37witness in the sky is faithful.” 38Selah.
