Psalms 78:32-55
32In spite of all this they 1still sinned And 2did not believe in His wonderful works.33So He brought 3their days to an end in 4futility And their years in sudden terror.
34When He killed them, then they 5sought Him, And returned and searched 6diligently for God;35And they remembered that God was their 7rock, And the Most High God their 8Redeemer.36But they 9deceived Him with their mouth And 10lied to Him with their tongue.37For their heart was not 11steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.38But He, being 12compassionate, 1314forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He 1516restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath.39Thus 17He remembered that they were but 18flesh, A 1920wind that passes and does not return.
40How often they 21rebelled against Him in the wilderness And 22grieved Him in the 23desert!41Again and again they 2425tempted God, And pained the 26Holy One of Israel.42They 27did not remember 28His 29power, The day when He 30redeemed them from the adversary,43When He performed His 31signs in Egypt And His 32marvels in the field of Zoan,44And 33turned their rivers to blood, And their streams, they could not drink.45He sent among them swarms of 34flies which devoured them, And 35frogs which destroyed them.46He gave also their crops to the 36grasshopper And the product of their labor to the 37locust.47He 38destroyed their vines with 39hailstones And their sycamore trees with frost.48He gave over their 40cattle also to the hailstones And their herds to bolts of lightning.49He 41sent upon them His burning anger, Fury and indignation and trouble, 42A band of destroying angels.50He leveled a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, But 43gave over their life to the plague,51And 44smote all the firstborn in Egypt, The 45first issue of their virility in the tents of 46Ham.52But He 47led forth His own people like sheep And guided them in the wilderness 48like a flock;53He led them 49safely, so that they did not fear; But 50the sea engulfed their enemies.
54So 51He brought them to His holy 52land, To this 5354hill country 55which His right hand had gained.55He also 56drove out the nations before them And 57apportioned them for an inheritance by measurement, And made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.
