Psalms 78:12-43

121He wrought wonders before their fathers In the land of Egypt, in the 2field of Zoan.13He 3divided the sea and caused them to pass through, And He made the waters stand 4up like a heap.14Then He led them with the cloud by 5day And all the night with a 6light of fire.15He 7split the rocks in the wilderness And gave them abundant drink like the ocean depths.16He 8brought forth streams also from the rock And caused waters to run down like rivers.

17Yet they still continued to sin against Him, To 9rebel against the Most High in the desert.18And in their heart they 10put God to the test By asking 11food according to their desire.19Then they spoke against God; They said, “12Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?20Behold, He 13struck the rock so that waters gushed out, And streams were overflowing; Can He give bread also? Will He provide 1415meat for His people?”

21Therefore the Lord heard and 16was 17full of wrath; And a fire was kindled against Jacob And anger also mounted against Israel,22Because they 18did not believe in God And did not trust in His salvation.23Yet He commanded the clouds above And 19opened the doors of heaven;24He 20rained down manna upon them to eat And gave them 2122food from heaven.25Man did eat the bread of 23angels; He sent them 24food 2526in abundance.26He 27caused the east wind to blow in the heavens And by His 28power He directed the south wind.27When He rained 29meat upon them like the dust, Even 30winged fowl like the sand of the seas,28Then He let them fall in the midst of 31their camp, Round about their dwellings.29So they 32ate and were well filled, And their desire He gave to them.3033Before they had satisfied their desire, 34While their food was in their mouths,31The 35anger of God rose against them And killed 36some of their 37stoutest ones, And 38subdued the choice men of Israel.32In spite of all this they 39still sinned And 40did not believe in His wonderful works.33So He brought 41their days to an end in 42futility And their years in sudden terror.

34When He killed them, then they 43sought Him, And returned and searched 44diligently for God;35And they remembered that God was their 45rock, And the Most High God their 46Redeemer.36But they 47deceived Him with their mouth And 48lied to Him with their tongue.37For their heart was not 49steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.38But He, being 50compassionate, 5152forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He 5354restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath.39Thus 55He remembered that they were but 56flesh, A 5758wind that passes and does not return.

40How often they 59rebelled against Him in the wilderness And 60grieved Him in the 61desert!41Again and again they 6263tempted God, And pained the 64Holy One of Israel.42They 65did not remember 66His 67power, The day when He 68redeemed them from the adversary,43When He performed His 69signs in Egypt And His 70marvels in the field of Zoan,
