Psalms 74:3-10
31Turn Your footsteps toward the 2perpetual ruins; The enemy 3has damaged everything within the sanctuary.4Your adversaries have 4roared in the midst of Your meeting place; They have set up their 5own 6standards 7for signs.5It seems as if one had lifted up His 89axe in a 10forest of trees.6And now 11all its 12carved work They smash with hatchet and 13hammers.7They have 1415burned Your sanctuary 16to the ground; They have 17defiled the dwelling place of Your name.8They 18said in their heart, “Let us 19completely 20subdue them.” They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.9We do not see our 21signs; There is 22no longer any prophet, Nor is there any among us who knows 23how long.10How long, O God, will the adversary 24revile, And the enemy 25spurn Your name forever?
