Psalms 71:5-18
5For You are my 1hope; O Lord 2God, You are my 3confidence from my youth.64By You I have been 5sustained from my birth; You are He who 6took me from my mother’s womb; My 7praise is continually 8of You.
7I have become a 9marvel to many, For You are 10my strong refuge.8My 11mouth is filled with Your praise And with 12Your glory all day long.9Do not cast me off in the 13time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.10For my enemies have spoken 14against me; And those who 15watch for my 16life 17have consulted together,11Saying, “18God has forsaken him; Pursue and seize him, for there is 19no one to deliver.”
12O God, 20do not be far from me; O my God, 21hasten to my help!13Let those who are adversaries of my soul be 22ashamed and consumed; Let them be 23covered with reproach and dishonor, who 24seek 25to injure me.14But as for me, I will 26hope continually, And will 2728praise You yet more and more.15My 29mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of 30Your salvation all day long; For I 31do not know the 32sum of them.16I will come 33with the mighty deeds of the Lord 34God; I will 35make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.
17O God, You 36have taught me from my youth, And I still 37declare Your wondrous deeds.18And even when I am 38old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I 39declare Your 40strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.
