Psalms 59:1-17
11234Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; 56Set me securely on high away from those who rise up against me.2Deliver me from 7those who do iniquity And save me from 8men of bloodshed.3For behold, they 9have 10set an ambush for my 11life; 12Fierce men 1314launch an attack against me, 15Not for my transgression nor for my sin, O Lord,41617For no guilt of mine, they run and set themselves against me. 18Arouse Yourself to 19help me, and see!5You, 20O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, Awake to 2122punish all the nations; 23Do not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity. 24Selah.6They 25return at evening, they howl like a 26dog, And go around the city.7Behold, they 27belch forth with their mouth; 28Swords are in their lips, For, they say, “29Who hears?”8But You, O Lord, 30laugh at them; You 31scoff at all the nations.
9Because of 32his 33strength I will watch for You, For God is my 34stronghold.1035My God 36in His lovingkindness will meet me; God will let me 37look triumphantly upon 38my foes.11Do not slay them, 39or my people will forget; 4041Scatter them by Your power, and bring them down, O Lord, 42our shield.1243On account of the 44sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, Let them even be 45caught in their pride, And on account of 46curses and 47lies which they utter.134849Destroy them in wrath, 50destroy them that they may be no more; That men may 51know that God 52rules in Jacob To the ends of the earth. Selah.14They 53return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go around the city.15They 54wander about 55for food And 56growl if they are not satisfied.
16But as for me, I shall 57sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall 58joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the 59morning, For You have been my 60stronghold And a 61refuge in the day of my distress.1762O my strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my 63stronghold, the 64God who shows me lovingkindness.
