Psalms 59:1-17

11234Rescue me from my enemies, my God; 56Set me securely on high away from those who rise up against me.2Rescue me from 7those who practice injustice, And save me from 8men of bloodshed.3For behold, they 9have 10set an ambush for my 11life; 12Fierce men 13attack me, 14Not for my wrongdoing nor for my sin, Lord,41516For no guilt of mine, they run and take their stand against me. 17Stir Yourself to 18help me, and see!5You, 19Lord God of armies, the God of Israel, Awake to 2021punish all the nations; 22Do not be gracious to any who deal treacherously in wrongdoing. Selah6They 23return at evening, they howl like a 24dog, And prowl around the city.7Behold, they 25gush forth with their mouths; 26Swords are in their lips, For, they say, “27Who hears?”8But You, Lord, 28laugh at them; You 29scoff at all the nations.

9Because of 30his 31strength I will watch for You, For God is my 32refuge.1033My God 34in His faithfulness will meet me; God will let me 35look triumphantly upon my enemies.11Do not kill them, 36or my people will forget; 3738Scatter them by Your power and bring them down, Lord, 39our shield.1240On account of the 41sin of their mouths and the words of their lips, May they even be 42caught in their pride, And on account of 43curses and lies which they tell.134445Destroy them in wrath, 46destroy them so that they will no longer exist; So that people may 47know that God 48rules in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah14They 49return at evening, they howl like a dog, And prowl around the city.15They 50wander about 51for food And 52murmur if they are not satisfied.

16But as for me, I will 53sing of Your strength; Yes, I will 54joyfully sing of Your faithfulness in the 55morning, For You have been my 56refuge And a 57place of refuge on the day of my distress.1758My strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my 59refuge, the 60God who shows me favor.
