Psalms 44:17-22
17All this has come upon us, but we have 1not forgotten You, And we have not 2dealt falsely with Your covenant.18Our heart has not 3turned back, And our steps 4have not deviated from Your way,19Yet You have 5crushed us in a place of 6jackals And covered us with 7the shadow of death.
20If we had 8forgotten the name of our God Or extended our 9hands to 10a strange god,21Would not God 11find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.22But 12for Your sake we are killed all day long; We are considered as 13sheep to be slaughtered.
