Psalms 40:11-17

11You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; 1Your 2lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.12For evils beyond number have 3surrounded me; My 4iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; They are 5more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my 6heart has 7failed me.

13 8Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; Make 9haste, O Lord, to help me.14Let those be 10ashamed and humiliated together Who 11seek my 12life to destroy it; Let those be turned back and dishonored Who delight 13in my hurt.15Let those 14be 15appalled because of their shame Who 16say to me, “Aha, aha!”16 17Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation 18say continually, “The Lord be magnified!”17Since 19I am afflicted and needy, 20 21Let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God.
