Psalms 40:11-17

11You, Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; 1Your 2mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me.12For evils beyond number have 3surrounded me; My 4guilty deeds have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; They are 5more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my 6heart has 7failed me.

13 8Be pleased, Lord, to rescue me; 9Hurry, Lord, to help me.14May those be 10ashamed and humiliated together Who 11seek my 12life to destroy it; May those be turned back and dishonored Who delight 13in my hurt.15May those 14be 15appalled because of their shame Who 16say to me, “Aha, aha!”16 17May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; May those who love Your salvation continually 18say, “The Lord be exalted!”17But 19I am afflicted and needy; 20May the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my savior; Do not delay, my God.
