Psalms 18:5-17

5The 1cords of 2Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.6In my 3distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice 4out of His temple, And my 5cry for help before Him came into His ears.

7Then the 6earth shook and quaked; And the 7foundations of the mountains were trembling And were shaken, because He was angry.8Smoke went up 8out of His nostrils, And 9fire from His mouth devoured; Coals were kindled by it.9He 10bowed the heavens also, and came down With thick 11darkness under His feet.10He rode upon a 12cherub and flew; And He sped upon the 13wings of the wind.11He made 14darkness His hiding place, 15His 16canopy around Him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.12From the 17brightness before Him passed His thick clouds, Hailstones and 18coals of fire.13The Lord also 19thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.14He 20sent out His arrows, and scattered them, And lightning flashes in abundance, and 21routed them.15Then the 22channels of water appeared, And the foundations of the world were 23laid bare At Your 24rebuke, O Lord, At the blast of the 25breath of Your nostrils.

16He 26sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of 27many waters.17He 28delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those who hated me, for they were 29too mighty for me.
