Psalms 18:4-19
4The 1cords of death encompassed me, And the 2torrents of 3ungodliness 4terrified me.5The 5cords of 6Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.6In my 7distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice 8out of His temple, And my 9cry for help before Him came into His ears.
7Then the 10earth shook and quaked; And the 11foundations of the mountains were trembling And were shaken, because He was angry.8Smoke went up 12out of His nostrils, And 13fire from His mouth devoured; Coals were kindled by it.9He 14bowed the heavens also, and came down With thick 15darkness under His feet.10He rode upon a 16cherub and flew; And He sped upon the 17wings of the wind.11He made 18darkness His hiding place, 19His 20canopy around Him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.12From the 21brightness before Him passed His thick clouds, Hailstones and 22coals of fire.13The Lord also 23thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.14He 24sent out His arrows, and scattered them, And lightning flashes in abundance, and 25routed them.15Then the 26channels of water appeared, And the foundations of the world were 27laid bare At Your 28rebuke, O Lord, At the blast of the 29breath of Your nostrils.
16He 30sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of 31many waters.17He 32delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those who hated me, for they were 33too mighty for me.18They confronted me in 34the day of my calamity, But 35the Lord was my stay.19He brought me forth also into a 36broad place; He rescued me, because 37He delighted in me.
