Psalms 144
Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity.
A Psalm of David.
1Blessed be the Lord, 1my rock, Who 2trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;2My faithfulness and 3my fortress, My 4stronghold and my savior, My 5shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who 6subdues 7my people under me.3Lord, 8what is man, that You look after him? Or a son of man, that You think of him?49Man is like the breath; His 10days are like a passing shadow.
511Bend down Your heavens, Lord, and 12come down; 13Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.6Flash forth 14lightning and scatter them; Send out Your 15arrows and confuse them.7Reach out with Your hand 16from on high; Rescue me and 17save me from great waters, From the hand of 18foreigners8Whose mouth 19speaks deceit, And whose 20right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
9God, I will sing a 21new song to You; On a 22harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,10Who 23gives salvation to kings, Who 24rescues His servant David from the evil sword.11Rescue me and save me from the hand of 25foreigners, Whose mouth 26speaks deceit And whose 27right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
12When our sons in their youth are like 28growing plants, And our daughters like 29corner pillars 30fashioned for a palace,13Our 31granaries are full, providing every kind of produce, And our flocks deliver thousands and ten thousands in our 32fields;14May our 33cattle 34be bred Without 3536mishap and without 3738loss, May there be no 39outcry in our streets!15Blessed are the people who are so situated; 40Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!
