Psalms 89:3-28
3“I have made a covenant with 1My chosen; I have 2sworn to David My servant,4I will establish your 3seed forever And build up your 4throne to all generations.” 5Selah.
5The 6heavens will praise Your wonders, O Lord; Your faithfulness also 7in the assembly of the 8holy ones.6For 9who in the skies is comparable to the Lord? Who among the 1011sons of the mighty is like the Lord,7A God 12greatly feared in the council of the 13holy ones, And 14awesome above all those who are around Him?8O Lord God of hosts, 15who is like You, O mighty 16Lord? Your faithfulness also surrounds You.9You rule the swelling of the sea; When its waves rise, You 17still them.10You Yourself crushed 1819Rahab like one who is slain; You 20scattered Your enemies with 21Your mighty arm.
11The 22heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The 23world and 24all it contains, You have founded them.12The 25north and the south, You have created them; 26Tabor and 27Hermon 28shout for joy at Your name.13You have 29a strong arm; Your hand is mighty, Your 30right hand is exalted.1431Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; 32Lovingkindness and 33truth go before You.15How blessed are the people who know the 3435joyful sound! O Lord, they walk in the 36light of Your countenance.16In 37Your name they rejoice all the day, And by Your righteousness they are exalted.17For You are the glory of 38their strength, And by Your favor 39our 40horn is exalted.18For our 41shield belongs to the Lord, 42And our king to the 43Holy One of Israel.
1944Once You spoke in vision to Your godly 45ones, And said, “I have 46given help to one who is 47mighty; I have exalted one 48chosen from the people.20I have 49found David My servant; With My holy 50oil I have anointed him,21With whom 51My hand will be established; My arm also will 52strengthen him.22The enemy will not 53deceive him, Nor the 5455son of wickedness afflict him.23But I shall 56crush his adversaries before him, And strike those who hate him.24My 57faithfulness and My lovingkindness will be with him, And in My name his 58horn will be exalted.25I shall also set his hand 59on the sea And his right hand on the rivers.26He will cry to Me, ‘You are 60my Father, My God, and the 61rock of my salvation.’27I also shall make him My 62firstborn, The 63highest of the kings of the earth.28My 64lovingkindness I will keep for him forever, And My 65covenant shall be confirmed to him.
