Psalms 78:1-8

1 1 2Listen, O my people, to my 3instruction; 4Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.2I will 5open my mouth in a parable; I will utter 6dark sayings of old,3Which we have heard and known, And 7our fathers have told us.4We will 8not conceal them from their children, But 9tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His 10wondrous works that He has done.

5For He established a 11testimony in Jacob And appointed a 12law in Israel, Which He 13commanded our fathers That they should 14 15teach them to their children,6 16That the generation to come might know, even 17the children yet to be born, That they may arise and 18tell them to their children,7That they should put their confidence in God And 19not forget the works of God, But 20keep His commandments,8And 21not be like their fathers, A 22stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that 23did not 24prepare its heart And whose spirit was not 25faithful to God.
