Psalms 72:2-17

2 1May 2he 3judge Your people with righteousness And 4 5Your afflicted with justice.3 6Let the mountains bring 7 8peace to the people, And the hills, in righteousness.4 9May he 10vindicate the 11afflicted of the people, Save the children of the needy And crush the oppressor.

5 12Let them fear You 13while the sun endures, And 14as long as the moon, throughout all generations.6 15May he come down 16like rain upon the mown grass, Like 17showers that water the earth.7In his days 18may the 19righteous flourish, And 20abundance of peace till the moon is no more.

8May he also rule 21from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth.9 22Let 23the nomads of the desert 24bow before him, And his enemies 25lick the dust.10 26Let the kings of 27Tarshish and of the 28 29islands bring presents; The kings of 30Sheba and 31Seba 32offer 33gifts.11 34And let all 35kings bow down before him, All 36nations serve him.

12For he will 37deliver the needy when he cries for help, The 38afflicted also, and him who has no helper.13He will have 39compassion on the poor and needy, And the 40lives of the needy he will save.14He will 41 42rescue their 43life from oppression and violence, And their blood will be 44precious in his sight;15So may he live, and may the 45gold of Sheba be given to him; And let 46them pray for him continually; Let 47them bless him all day long.

16May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains; Its fruit will wave like the cedars of 48Lebanon; And may those from the city flourish like 49vegetation of the earth.17May his 50name endure forever; May his name 51increase 52 53as long as the sun shines; And let men 54bless themselves by him; 55Let all nations call him blessed.
