Psalms 47

God, the King of the Earth.

1 1Clap your hands, all you peoples; 2Shout to God with a voice of joy.2For the Lord Most High is to be 3feared, A 4great King over all the earth.3He 5subdues peoples under us And nations under our feet.4He chooses our 6inheritance for us, The 7pride of Jacob whom He loves. Selah

5God has 8ascended 9with a shout, The Lord, 10with the 11sound of a trumpet.6 12Sing praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to 13our King, sing praises.7For God is the 14King of all the earth; Sing praises 15with a psalm of wisdom.8God 16reigns over the nations, God 17sits on 18His holy throne.9The 19 20princes of the people have assembled as the 21people of the God of Abraham, For the 22shields of the earth belong to God; He is 23highly exalted.
