Psalms 141
An Evening Prayer for Sanctification and Protection.
A Psalm of David.
1Lord, I call upon You; 1hurry to me! 2Listen to my voice when I call to You!2May my prayer be 3counted as 4incense before You; The 5raising of my hands as the 6evening offering.3Set a 7guard, Lord, 8over my mouth; Keep watch over the 9door of my lips.410Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice deeds 11of wickedness With people who 12do wrong; And 13may I not taste their delicacies.
5May the 14righteous strike me with mercy and discipline me; It is 15oil for the head; My head shall not refuse it, For my prayer 16is still against their evil deeds.6Their judges are 17thrown down by the sides of the rock, And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.7As when one 18plows and breaks open the earth, Our 19bones have been scattered at the 20mouth of 21Sheol.
8For my 22eyes are toward You, 23God, the Lord; In You I 24take refuge; 25do not 26leave me defenseless.9Keep me from the 2728jaws of the trap which they have set for me, And from the 29snares of those who do wrong.10May the wicked 30fall into their own nets, While I pass by 3132safely.
